Hi from Wing2!
We’re Natsumi and Natsumu living in room 224. It has been 504 days since we came to Boston and we only have 8 days left. We are excited to see our family and friends in Japan but also we feel sad because we have shared the room for a year and half. We have spent time together for such a long time so it’s kind of weird that we are going to live apart. Anyway, we need to enjoy the rest of our life in Boston! It seems like most students have plans every single day until they leave, especially they are enjoying food. We often run into other Showa students in the city more than usual. 224 girls are foodies and of course we have a plan to eat out for dinner next week! We’re going to our favorite Spanish restaurants. One of good points in Boson is we can enjoy many kinds of food and Boston actually has a lot of good restaurants.
Hello. We are Wing 2.
Time flies so fast! Now I am taking Newburry College class twice a week since regular classes finished.
However I have only 9 days until I go back to Japan so I went to Quincy Market, Trader Joe’s and Harvard to buy souvenir for my family and friends. I had a great time in Boston but this weekend is last weekend for me to enjoy Boston with my friends so I will spend a great weekend with no regrets.
Hello, we are Yui, Yuna and Megumi from wing2. From last week, we started to take a class at Emmanuel College twice a week. We learn about gender issues. We really enjoy to take a class at an American college and see a new teacher. By the way, we have only 16 days until going back to Japan. Time flies so fast!!! 2 years ago, we moved to Tokyo from other prefecture and after a half year, we came to Boston. But we have been in Boston about a year and a half. We are more familiar with Boston than Tokyo! Boston is our second hometown. We’re busy to enjoy Boston, eat Boston food and buy souvenirs. We’re so happy to come to Boston as members of BLIP15 and be here for a long time.
Hello!! We’re Wing 9!!
On January 6th, we celebrated coming of age!! We had a party in one of the oldest hotel in Boston, Omni Parker Hotel. We enjoyed a special meal, especially Boston cream pie. After the meal, everyone including teachers danced and it as very fun!
Keeping with yesterday’s theme, here are some extra photos from the festival itself. Special thanks our Showa Soran Bushi performers and to the Wellesley College Taiko Group for being involved.
Here are some additional photos of Showa Boston’s annual festival, held last month. Our students worked hard to make the event a success, but these pictures show that they had some fun as well!
Hi, I’m Rei from Wing2. I had been in New York during this winter vacation. I spent a great time there through Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Spending New Year’s Eve in Time’s Square was top of my dream in my life. I was glad that my dream came true. However, standing for a long time in crowded Time’s Square was harder than I expected. I thought I don’t want to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Time’s Square again though it was really amazing. It was the most delightful moment in my life here the United States. I hope everyone will have a great year.
This November we went to New York by ourselves.
The purpose of this trip was eating and visiting 9.11 memorial.
We went to many restaurants and cafes, including Mogenstren’s Finest Ice Cream and Clinton Street Bakery.
At Mogenstren’s Finest Ice Cream, we could eat black ice cream.
The second day, we ate blanch at Cream and Clinton Street Bakery.
After blanch, we visited 9.11 memorial. We shouldn’t forget this memory.
Of course, we went to Times Square!
Hello. We are Wing2. On November 11th we went to Wellesley College as filed Trip.
It is women’s college. It has long history. Hillary Clinton also graduated Wellesley College. There is a lake and museum in the Wellesley College. Museum has many ancient art. They have huge land and nature. It was nice weather so we could see the colored leaves from Wellesley College. Hillary Clinton was lost but we were very happy to see the Wellesley College.
