Last night 10 Emerson College journalism and communication students, visiting Japan this March as part of the TOMODACHI Inouye Scholars Program, came to Showa Boston for a dinner exchange with our students and for a Japanese culture orientation. Some of the Emerson students even tried natto in our cafeteria!
Today four Showa students went to Mount Ida and each gave a presentation on an aspect of Japanese culture. They were invited by an art and game design class that will travel to Japan next month. Students presented on the following topics:
Saori Kato – How to survive in a Japanese train stations or department store
Nina Miyaguchi – Japanese restaurants: What they are and how to order
Sayono Shimakage – Akihabara, Purikura, and Japanese arcades
Junna Takeuchi – Survival Japanese
