Students from Showa Elementary School will come to Boston to interact with Americans in classes and on daily excursions. The Japanese students are experiencing their first visit to America, and an introduction to actually using the English language. ESL and cultural activities are planned to give students a better understanding of one another's cultures.
Afternoon excursions will help the Japanese students become acquainted with Boston as their new friends help them understand life in America. Some afternoons are spent on campus where there is swimming, tennis, games and crafts. Other afternoons, students will visit various sites in and around Boston.
